Newham Film Office oversees filming and photography activity in the borough. We can help source and secure the right location for you, arrange site reccie's for you, provide parking solutions and advise on traffic management issues.

We liaise with all the relevant people on your behalf, including the Police and residents where required. We're always looking to balance the needs of the local community and businesses with the needs of filmmakers.

Licensing

We issue a standard filming licence with special conditions tailored to individual locations. This covers filming on Council owned and managed sites, including highways. All production units are required to agree to the licence before filming can go ahead. Note: you are requested to give as much notice of filming as possible, however filming may still be agreed with only 24hrs notice.

Get A Licence

We have an e-form which must be completed for all filming applications. Once agreed a licence for your activity will follow. Click the apply for filming button at the top of the page to begin. If you experience any difficulties with this form please call us on 020 8430 2261.

Charges

Due to the variable nature of filming requests Newham Film Office does not operate a set tariff of film charges. Put simply, no two jobs are the same and so every production charge will be calculated on an individual basis. All charges will be discussed with you at the point of application.

Parking

Much of the borough is Controlled Parking Zone free, but parking can still be very limited. We can arrange suspensions with as little as 48 hours notice, but more is always advised.
